Busy Week

Adam has something every night this week. This made the week incredible long. I was in desprate need of some adult time and a little time to myself. I did get 45 min to go get lunch, frozen pizzas for dinner, food for Sam, and a movie for the night and I got to do it all by myself.

Sam missed his daddy but we did get to go see him at the many games. Sam loves to steal Adam's hat and chew on it. All that chewing helped Sam's first tooth poke through. That's right we have a tooth. I can't quite get a picture of it yet, but I am working on it.

Still not crawling yet, but I am starting to think that he is going to just skip crawling and go right to walking. He is constantly pulling himself up on what ever is close. He even pushed Silas over and tried to pull himself up on him. Silas didn't seem to mind too much.

Well Tarah is offically full term (37 weeks) so we are waiting paitently to meet our new addition and find out what her name will be. I am excited to see how Sam will be with a baby around.

Sam is seven months old!

It is hard to believe Sam is seven months old!

He is not quite crawling, as you will see in the video he gets up on his knees and rocks.

He is teething, which is why I think we are getting more of these fits than I would like.

He is eating three meals of solid baby food a day.

He loves his Johnny-Jump-Up.

He is a mommy's boy especially at bed time.

He is finally fitting into size 6-9 months.

And he still makes us laugh and smile everyday.

Sorry it is side ways. I was able to flip it in my kodak program, but it did not translate here.

Ledyard Update

Sorry I am not very good at this blogging thing, but I really am going to try and get at least one post a week up. I can't believe how fast my boy is growing up. He is such a joy! He is sitting up all by himself now. It is so great to be able to put him on the floor with a couple of toys and have him entertain himself. His favorite thing right now is his Johnny-Jump-Up. He will jump for a half hour at a time. Check out the video. He is also a big talker now. After a couple months of Adam and I saying "mama" and "dada" he has finally caught on and says "dada" for everything now. It is really cute, but as mama I am trying to get him to say "mama" too.

For those of you that don't know I am not teaching any more. I am staying home with Sam and babysitting. I watch Silas 3 or 4 days a week. Silas is 3 weeks and one day younger than Sam so it is like having twins. I get asked that everytime I have them out together. It has been really fun and I don't miss teaching at all. It is an incredible joy to be a mom and getting to stay home. I am so greatfull that we have been able to make it work. I am trying to find another child to watch so if you know of anyone who is look for a babysitter let me know.

Enjoy the pictures and videos.

Our Little Peanut is growing up

We started Sam on rice and oatmeal cereal last week. He was waking up at 4:30 a.m. to eat and mommy was not too excited about that, so we decided to start cereal. He really likes it! We are eating 4 tablespoons twice a day and eating every bite. Today he decided to get his hands all in it and wipe them on his face. He is also trying to grab the spoon.

On Thursday, Sam rolled from his back to his stomach. It took him a little while, but he did it. Now I put him down and he rolls over in about 10 seconds. He only rolls over his left side and can't get back over so it is a fun new game to roll over and then whine until mommy rolls him back over.

Adam and I were looking at pictures of Sam when he was about a month old and I can't believe how much he has changed in just that short a time. We realized that we need to enjoy everyday that we have with him!

Colorado

We were lucky enough to get to go to Colorado over the 4th of July. My whole family (Mom and Dad, Andy, Seth, Tarah, Jericho, Baby girl G, and Tori) got to come. We stayed at my Uncle Tim and Aunt Bonnie's house up in the mountains of Denver. It was so great to see my family. It was
especially nice to introduce Sam to his GG (great-grandma).

Jericho and Sam just hanging out

We went to The Buterfly Pavaline and Sam loved looking at the butterflies and flowers. Jericho and Sam had fun in the hunny comb jungle gym. Aren't they adorable!

GG loved having all three of her great-grandkids around for the week. The big boy is my cousin Candi's little guy Maddox. Jericho and Maddox were great play mates. They had a dump truck that they were pushing each other around in, it was so cute.

Being with my whole family all week made me really wish that we lived closer. It is so hard being so far away from each other, especially as our family grows. Tarah found out they are having another girl! I am so excited for Jericho to have a sister. I miss mine more that I realized until I got to see them every day.

GG posed for us. Isn't it GREAT!

Sam "talking" to Mommy

I took this video of Sam "talking" to me the other day and I wanted to see if I could get it to work on here. Sam is wearing an old hat of Adam's from when he was little. Sam "talks" to us like this everyday. He especially likes to talk to Daddy. Sam really knows his voice. I hope that he will know his heavenly fathers voice just as well when he gets older!

Headed to Colorado

We are heading to Colorado for vacation tomorrow. My whole family is going to be there. I am soooo excited!! Not only do I get to see my whole family, but I get to introduce my son to his great-grandma (Gigi), and my aunt and uncles and cousins and my cousin's little guy Maddox. I promise to have lots of picture and stories when we get back. Hopefully they are stories about how great of a traveler my son is.
Just for fun here are some pictures of Sam in his Jonny Jump-Up. He likes it OK, but I think that he will love it when he gets a little bit bigger. He is not quite tall enough and he doesn't quite get how to jump in it.

Father's Day

Adam with his dad, Paul, and Samson

For Adam's first Father's Day, I wanted to make it special. So after Sam had his breakfast, we went and got Daddy breakfast from McDonalds and gave him breakfast in bed. Sam got his Daddy a board book that is also a picture frame so Adam can put it on is desk in his office. He also got Adam a journal so he can write in it and pass all of his wisdom on to Sam. Adam plans on giving it back to Sam on his 13th birthday. I got him some boxers so that Mommy doesn't have to do laundry as often :)

Sam with Grandpa Ledyard
Adam's parents were here for the weekend so after Sam's second feeding (He still eats every two hours) I made a nice lunch for us all. We gave both grandpas a picture frame with a picture of them with Sam in a picture frame that said I Love My Grandpa. They both loved their gifts. I made Dad cry (For those of you don't know our family has this inside joke to see who can get mom or dad to cry when we give them a gift).

Sam with his Boppa

After Adam's parent left we went to my grandma house to have dinner with my side of the family. It was fun because my cousins were home from college so we got to visit with them too. Grandma had a great meal as usual and we had a good time.

All and all it was a great day and I think it was really special for Adam. Sorry I do not have any pictures of Adam with Sam with all turn out horrible.

Wiggle Worm

Our little man is quite the wiggle worm. Before we put him in his crib (thanks Uncle Tim and Aunt Bonnie) he would wiggle his way up to the end of the bassinette and end up side ways. So far when he is in the crib he does not move that much. I am not sure why.

Finger or Thumb?

What do you think, will Sam be a finger sucker or a thumb sucker? In my family Tarah and I were thumb suckers and Tori and Andy were finger suckers. Adam's mom did not let him suck anything so it will be interesting to see. Right now he likes to stick his whole fist in his mouth. Personally I think he will be a thumb sucker, but I guess I am a little bias.

Finger?

Thumb?

Or what ever he can fit in his mouth
